More awards for Hope and I Want to Change The World!

Posted on 23rd October 2020

Film festival season is mainly online this year, but it’s certainly in full swing! We were thrilled to learn that Hope won the Grand Jury award at the recent Deaf Rochester Film Festival, based in America, and I Want to Change The World won Best Documentary!

That’s not all… Hope also won the Best Deaf Cinema Short award at the Madrid Film Festival at the weekend. David Ellington, the director of Hope, said he was really honoured. He wasn’t there to accept it in Spain, but his Spanish friend told him that the deaf audience found Hope a really moving and hard hitting film. David said: “So the award is not only for me, but also for the cast and crew
who worked tirelessly to make this happen.”

Amazing news all round – we at BSLBT send congratulations to everyone involved!
