Final Casting Call: Night Deviant

Posted on 9th October 2019

Night Deviant is a short BSL horror film, set in a family home, from Deaf director William Horsefield, working with Screen Northants, for BSLBT.  After jokingly playing with an Ouija board, Charlotte feels uneasy in the house. Her parents go out for the evening, leaving her home alone…

The Night Deviant team are looking for two more BSL using actors for the production; filming will be on 21st – 23rd October 2019, in Northampton.

They are casting for the following characters:

MASON (DAD – needed for all 3 days)

Charlotte’s Dad (35-50yrs approx.) – hearing character – uses BSL and verbal English. They’re a close-knit family and enjoy each other’s company. It’s a warm, friendly household and they’re always ready to have a laugh and joke along with Charlotte and her pranks.

SASHA (FRIEND – needed for 1 day)

The lead character Charlotte’s friend (16-18yrs approx.) – all applicants must be 16yrs or over.  Sasha (Deaf) and Charlotte are on FaceTime when Charlotte plays a prank on Sasha which has scary consequences.

All applicants must be BSL users.  First time actors are welcome, as well as experienced ones.

It would be ideal if you are based locally to Northampton, but if not, accommodation can be provided. Travel expenses are also covered and you will be paid.

To apply, please send a photo and any details of previous acting experience. If you would prefer to submit a video application, you are welcome to send a video.  Email info@screennorthants.co.uk
