BSLBT is absolutely delighted to announce that Summer in Lockdown has won a MIPCOM Diversify Excellence Award in the Disability Unscripted category!
The documentary tells the story of six very different people during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. It was produced and directed by Cathy Heffernan, working with Drummer TV. Cathy says “A wonderful surprise receiving this award! It was a privilege working with Drummer TV and BSLBT as well as our contributors on this programme. The pandemic and lockdown affected everyone and it was so important to record Deaf people's experiences of this exceptional period in our lives – it was the generosity of our contributors in sharing their stories in an honest and frank way that made this documentary what it is.”
