We at BSLBT were thrilled to learn that I Want to Change The World, our documentary about Daniel Jillings’ campaign for a BSL GCSE, won the Children’s award at RTS West of England!
Sebastian Cunliffe, who produced and directed the programme, working with Drummer TV, said: “A programme with 100% BSL and zero voiceover has won a mainstream award. It goes to show that the world is ready for BSL.”
BSLBT’s Head of Commissioning, Maggie Swinfen, added: “We are absolutely delighted that I Want To Change the World has been awarded an RTS award. Seb and the team at Drummer created an engaging and important programme and it is important that Daniel's dedication and commitment to British Sign Language has been recognised.”
