Almost at SQIFF 2019!

Posted on 29th August 2019

One of our new short films, Almost, has been selected to screen at the Scottish Queer International Film Festival (SQIFF)!  Almost, directed by Teresa Garratty, is a short film showing an interaction between two women.  What happens? Wait and see!

Teresa said, ‘We're absolutely delighted that SQIFF reached out to include us in their programme this year and we hope this is the first of many festival screenings that will give Deaf LGBT+ people the representation they've been waiting for.’

SQIFF is a not-for-profit organisation that run a festival every year in Glasgow, with the aim of improving awareness around queer films whilst also challenging inequality and barriers to accessing the arts.  The vast majority of films shown at the festival will have English captions or subtitles, and they also have BSL interpreters available for extended introductions, Q&As, panel discussions, workshops and socialising!

The festival itself will be running between 2nd and 6th October 2019, with Almost being screened on 3rd October.  For more information about the festival and tickets, you can go to their website here.

Many congratulations to Teresa from all of us at BSLBT!
