Lost Spaces

“We are here, we are not invisible!" Bristol Deaf community go on a quest to secure their future.

Documentary. Presented by Nadeem Islam, Lost Spaces looks at the effect that big changes in Bristol have had on the Deaf community; first the University's Centre for Deaf Studies closed, then the Centre for Deaf People. We learn how the Deaf community's relationship with Bristol Council has changed, too. Featuring a BSL poem by Paul Scott and comments from local Deaf people, including the new Director of the Centre for Deaf People who is trying to bring people together again. Filmed, produced and directed by David Ellington.
