Sam had no friends, until a special friend came along!

Drama. A boy called Sam finds it hard to get accepted at his new Deaf school. Then things become strange when he makes a new friend - who no-one else can see. Starring Karolis Jaskus, Charlotte Arrowsmith and David Sands, this film also stars the pupils of Oak Lodge School in South London. Directed by Daryl Jackson and produced by Martin Wright for BSLBT.

Boy from Before was nominated for a Children's BAFTA Award for Best Children's Drama in 2010.

  • I really loved this short story. It makes me, want to go back and learn BSL all over again. I got some parts of the sign, but watching the reactions on the faces, helped me fill in the blanks. I would really like to see where the story goes on from now.

  • Our class really enjoyed and were thoroughly interested in learning the signs and watching the story unfold. We believe that it is a very interesting story. We really liked the creepy parts.
