Excellent news all round:  Dot, our drama documentary about the life of Deaf poet, playwright and activist, Dorothy Miles, which was produced by Cathy Heffernan and directed by Bim Ajadi, will be screened at the Hong Kong Deaf Film Festival which will take place between 11th-13th May.

Ted Evans has doubly fantastic news because his new drama, To Know Him, will also be screened at the Hong Kong Deaf Film Festival, and his 2011 film, The End, will be screened at Gestival 2018 in Arras, France, between 18th-20th May!

The End will have French subtitles at Gestival.  It has been chosen as an example of a Deaf film – a short film contest will be launched at the next edition of Gestival in 2020, so they are showing different films.

Finally, for Deaf Awareness Week, during week commencing 14th May, Picturehouse cinemas have put together a Short Film Showcase which will be shown at some of their cinemas across the UK, including Jean St Clair and Louis Neethling’s Signs of an Affair!

Many congratulations to all involved from all at BSLBT
