Deaf Funny is back, filming two new episodes in January and February 2019.  We are looking for a d/Deaf Trainee On Set Runner to join our friendly team, working with our professional crew and amazing actors.

We are looking for someone who is 18 years old or over.  Maybe you are studying media at college or University, maybe you really love films and have always wanted to try working on set, and maybe you have even made short films of your own?  An interest in film and willingness to learn is as important as having had lots of experience.

The role of the on set runner is an important one.  The runner will work with the First Assistant Director helping to keep the set running smoothly, making drinks, helping with location moves and supporting the actors.  It’s also an opportunity to learn about how a professional film set works.

The majority of our actors are d/Deaf, we have a fully d/Deaf make up team and all of our crew have worked on Deaf Funny before.  Deaf Funny is an open, inclusive environment, and we work with very experienced, media BSL interpreters.

Deaf Funny is written and directed by Charlie Swinbourne, and produced by Wellington Films and Eyewitness Media. Filming is in Nottingham.

The details of the role are:

  • 10 days, 28 Jan – 1 Feb, and 4-8 Feb 2019
  • £450 a week for two weeks (£900 total)
  • Travel expenses to Nottingham covered
  • Accommodation in Nottingham provided

Please send an email to Rachel Robey at rrobey@wellingtonfilms.co.uk and we will then arrange interviews in BSL.
