Charlie Swinbourne has become the BSL Zone's new Web Editor.

Charlie is a deaf journalist who has written for the Guardian, BBC Online and a range of other publications. He also edits British Deaf News magazine and the deaf news and blogs website The Limping Chicken.

This isn’t the first time Charlie has worked with the BSLBT - as a scriptwriter, Charlie wrote the dramas My Song and Departure Lounge for the trust, as well as the comedy The Fingerspellers. His other films include Coming Out and Four Deaf Yorkshiremen (which he also directed).

He said: "I'm really pleased to be joining the BSL Zone. As well as working on several programmes for the BSLBT, I'm also a big fan of many of the programmes and films that have been made for the trust! So it's a real honour to become Web Editor of the site."

Charlie will be keeping you posted on upcoming programmes and outreach events. He will also be adding features and interviews to the site.

He will also be looking at ways of bringing more BSL content on to the website and would love to hear from you if you have any ideas or feedback.

You can contact Charlie by email: (he can arrange to talk to you in BSL via Skype or Facetime if you prefer)

We also have another new member of our team. Miranda Durrant has joined us as Production Co-ordinator for six months. Miranda was previously a freelance line producer, making programmes for Channel 4, Sky and the BBC, and other broadcasters.

Welcome to Charlie and Miranda!
