The Maine Deaf Film Festival, which opened on Wednesday night with a screening of Alex Gibney's hard-hitting feature-length documentary Mea Maxima Culpa, has included eight BSLBT films in its weekend schedule.
2012's four Zoom films – September 11th, Strangers, Little World and Crossing the Divide – and two Zoom Focus films – You, Me and Confession – are all on show along with Louis Neethling's Still Here (pictured) and David Ellington's Life Out There.
BSLBT films Admit None, 50/50, Otherside, Five Needles, The End and Deaf Beat were shown at last year's festival – quite clearly they like their British films!
The festival, now in its 11th year, is organised by students in the University of Maine's Sign Language Club. It showcases films which are written, produced, created and performed by deaf and hard of hearing people.
