The deadline for this year's Zoom filmmaking scheme passed last Friday, and the BSLBT are delighted at the response from UK Deaf film-makers, with 30 applications received.
The BSLBT's CEO, Terry Riley says: "This year the scheme was publicised widely and we have received 30 applications from people around the country. I would like to offer my sincere thanks to everyone who spread the news about the scheme as this is an excellent response."
He added: "This really shows the enthusiasm and go ahead passion film makers have here in the UK."
In past years, the scheme has helped launch Deaf filmmaking talent both in the Zoom part of the scheme and Zoom Focus, where more experienced filmmakers make a longer film.
The production company running the scheme, Neath Films, will now be looking at all the applications before the process begins for deciding who will get a place on the scheme.
