Chat show featuring notable people from the Deaf community. In this episode, presenter Julian Peedle-Calloo meets prominent Deaf people from Birmingham. First up is Deaf historian John Hay, who boasts a varied CV including being a university lecturer, football fan, and being awarded the MBE! Hay talks about the research into Deaf culture he carried out after being awarded the Winston Churchill Memorial Fellowship. Next up is Janeene Streather who talks about her lifelong passion for drama and theatre, including running the theatre group, Derby 3D Deaf Drama. Finally, we meet educationalist and filmmaker Wendy Daunt, who is also affectionately known as ‘the Grandmother of the Deaf community.’
