Another chance to see Zoom 2012: Strangers & September 11th on the BSL Zone player and on television from 8am on Monday 4th March. Both films were made as part of the BSLBT’s Zoom filmmaking scheme.

Strangers is a drama about a Deaf boy who finds his voice when an interpreter visits his home. This film focuses on the importance of communication within families, and has a twist at the end. The directing debut of Deaf actor Brian Duffy.

September 11th is a drama about the impact of the September 11th terror attacks on Deaf people living many miles away. This film looks at both hearing and Deaf attitudes to ethnicity following world events. Based on a true story, September 11th was directed by Raabia Hussain.

On television:

  • Film Four at 8am on Monday 4th March
  • Community Channel at 2pm on Tuesday 5th March, 7.30pm on Thursday 7th March and 7.30am on Saturday 9th March
