Our documentary Who Cares? which looks at elderly care provision for Deaf people, has been used to support training at a care home.
The training was delivered by Andy Palmer, CEO of Cambridge Deaf Association, for staff at the Manor Care Home which is run by Leonard Cheshire Disability.
Andy told us:"The film had a big impact. Who Cares really helps to illustrate the different needs of Deaf people in care. The impact of poor communication with Deaf residents isn’t always at the front of people’s minds in the Care Sector but watching Who Cares? and then discussing it changes that."
He added: "The delegates were moved to tears which showed the emotional impact of the documentary. Many of the delegates said that the film helped them understand what deaf people may feel like in care if communication isn't there."
