The British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust (BSLBT) is pleased to announce it is sponsoring this year’s Deaffest festival.
Deaffest, the UK’s leading Deaf-led Film and Arts Festival, was first held in 2006, and this year’s festival will be the tenth anniversary edition.
The festival aims to give Deaf filmmakers and artists the chance to show their work and be recognised for their talents.
For the first time, Deaffest will be running for four full days, from Thursday morning until midnight on Sunday.
There will be film screenings from across the globe, a late night party, stalls fair, workshops, seminars and much more.
There is a special Gala Awards evening this year, with awards including Best British Film, Best Documentary and acting awards.
There will also be two awards for Young Deaffest, which aims to support young Deaf people in showcasing their filmmaking talents.
Directors of Zebra Access Marilyn Willrich and Nikki Stratton said: “We are delighted to receive sponsorship from BSLBT in support of Deaffest 2015. BSLBT have had a strong presence at Deaffest for a number of years now, and having them sponsor us for the 10th anniversary is wonderful!”
